"When you are told by the professionals what you can do to make sciatica and back pain better (Pilates, swimming etc.) and you just keep carrying on, doing nothing, there comes a point when you think, maybe they are right!! So, I found Luke's class - it fits right in with my work hours, in a great location and a well-equipped class with really soothing, relaxing music too! I feel so much better and it really does help with the back niggles. It's also a great way to switch off and thoroughly unwind after busy London life. I highly recommend Luke's class – it has certainly made a big difference to me.”HarrietPersonal TrainingIf you’re serious about getting fitter and want to achieve the best results using tried and tested methods, then personal training with Kristian McPhee is the answer.Being a certified fitness instructor and British Weightlifting Champion, Tutor and Level 2 coach there’s not much Kristian doesn’t know about strength and fitness and how to motivate and get the best out of his students in a safe yet challenging environment.Kristian works with men and women of all ages and abilities with sessions tailored to meet each individual’s goals be they improved muscle tone, better cardiovascular fitness or improved posture, strength and flexibility.
“Kristian has been a motivational and knowledgeable trainer to work with over the last few months. The sessions have been tough but very rewarding and are never the same. I’ve really noticed a difference in my fitness, and energy levels since I've started personal training and my strength is really coming on too! I couldn’t recommend Kristian highly enough!”LauraPilatesPilates is a series of non-impact exercises to develop strength, flexibility, balance and inner awareness. It focuses on a breathing pattern to enhance the exercises and can help to restore your body’s alignment with specific exercises. Pilates targets the balanced development of deep and superficial muscles that stabilise, align and move the trunk of the body especially the abdominals and muscles of the back. It can be done by anyone – any age or any fitness level, male or female.
“I attend Lorraine's Pilates class on Monday evenings, every week, without fail. I unfortunately prolapsed 2 discs in 2012 and couldn't walk for 5 months. After 18 months under my brilliant Osteopath (who saved me from having a triple spinal fuse operation), I was well enough to start Pilates. Lorraine carefully tailored the movements/exercises suitable for my delicate and fragile condition with great skill. My improvement in strength, motion and pain cannot be understated, all because of Lorraine. She really has given me my life back! Lorraine's classes are very professional, informative and fun (I consider myself a life member). She is also one of the warmest, nicest people on the planet as well as one of the best instructors.”MarkPole Exercise Dance & FitnessPole Exercise Dance & Fitness is a fantastic way for women to exercise, to get into shape and build self-confidence. The focus is on softening as well as strengthening the body to help support the growing baby and provide a firm foundation as you transition through each phase of pregnancy.Practising breathing techniques encourages calmness mindfully and physically and promotes an internal connection with baby as well as greater sense of well-being. Meditation and relaxation allows both mother and baby to completely "let go" and have time out just to focus on yourself. No previous experience of yoga is necessary and mothers-to-be can start when they are safely into the second trimester and practice right up until their due date. Yoga contributes to a happy, healthy pregnancy for both mother and baby.
“I did pregnancy yoga with Amanda till a week before my second baby was born. My practice helped me feel much stronger through this pregnancy compared to my first, yoga-less pregnancy. The pregnancy yoga exercises helped me tremendously to stay in control through my first stages of labour and my little one was out in 20 minutes once I was ready."SandraTenacious Training (not for the weak)For groups of up to six, Kristian McPhee’s Tenacious Training sessions are for men and women who want to be fit, healthy and strong. “I have been having training sessions with Kristian on a weekly basis for over 3 years now and cannot speak highly enough of him. When I started I had no strength and could barely do a press up. Kristian is extremely knowledgeable and makes every session fun and varied while at the same time helping me to push myself to achieve whether it be lifting that bit more or doing those extra repetitions. His training has improved my strength all over, suppleness, posture, and muscle tone. As an office worker, he has made me more aware of the need to keep my body in better shape and how to do this. I can now squat my own body weight plus a whole range of other moves I didn't know existed! I would be lost without Kristian’s help and never want to miss a class.”SineadUrban Jazz FusionIf you love dancing, music and dance exercises then this class is for you! “I have been going to Yoga sessions with Amanda for more than four years and I still can't stop thanking my stars for the day that I found her lovely classes! Amanda's classes are fun, energetic and invigorating, as well as calming and relaxing. Amanda is sensitive to our individual needs and encourages us to follow the pace of our own special bodies. We feel challenged without feeling pressurised. Classes always extend previous learning, and I love the new added twists to our regular postures every now and then! Amanda's enthusiasm is contagious! My personal favourite part of our classes is the beautiful philosophical touch (through poems, quotes and yoga literature) that make Amanda's classes more than just about postures. I happened to start Yoga with Amanda at a time when I felt very low, and I can say for sure that week after week, my practice with her has helped feel more at one with myself!"Susan
